.....as are the men in yellow, green, white, polka-dot etc.

To the layman, these athletes are performing super-human feats just by riding 120 miles + each day, so your average guy in the street can't be blamed when their not surprized by the latest 'drugs-bust'. When non cyclists ask me about it they're almost trying to make me feel responsible for the state of my sport, thus smearing my reputation as a cyclist by association with these cheats; 'there goes a serious looking cyclist, I bet he takes drugs.'
Two young ladies asked me just last week if I was "in the Tour de France"? How can you fight against this 'tabloid' attitude towards the sport?

The fact is, The Tour is in the public's conciousness for as long as it goes on, and just like the Olympics any drugs issues are jumped on by everyone in the media. This of course doesn't help the 'clean' competitiors trying to make their own way, shame!

Latest:
Doping news: L'Equipe is reporting that the UCI will release details of another testosterone positive, taken after stage 11 to Montpellier. The rider's identity hasn't been released, but there were eight tested after the stage: Robert Hunter (stage winner), Michael Rasmussen (yellow jersey leader), Maxim Iglinskiy, Erik Zabel, Lilian Jegou, Cristian Moreni, Kim Kirchen and Patxi Vila.

Come on then Place your bets, how I hope its the Chicken,

Cycling is in the press at the moment and tarred with the doping brush Smiffy, but look here

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_sportspeople_who_tested_positive_for_banned_substances

Its a human problem, just like dieting. I want results but I don't want to do the hard work!
