Can these shoes really live up to a name like that ;
first ride, first impressions, well i think they look pretty cool to start with certainly better than wearing overshoes,the fit is snug, northwaves website claim they make the widest shoes there is but the gtx's are not as wide as my specialized and they are half a size bigger, but dont get me wrong there is still plenty of room to give your toes a wiggle.The laces are a bit of a bind but you dont have to use them if you dont want to because of the velcro. Good for nightrideing too as they are splattered with scotchbrite
My first ride in them was for 3+ hours and i must admit i thought they were fantastic,although not in the depths of winter yet my feet were toasty all night despite frequent stops (picking pikey up off the floor)the super stiff soles which are carbon re-enforced mean power transfer is perfect,i could easy race in these all year if they were not so warm
An absolutely brilliant shoe (so far) which i would recommed to everyone.
UPDATE ....done three hours the other day in the rain on my road bike it took ages for my feet to get damp and all the while stayed completely toasty .the water went in through the tops the actual boot stayed absolute waterproof Fandabidosi!!!

I have a pair of these, and used them all last winter with just normal socks underneath and never had cold feet. Also they keep your feet dry, which helps to stop them getting cold.

£99.99 on Wiggle and Evans, I got mine from Rutland cycling last year for £80 though, so might be worth haggling, or speaking to your friendly bike shop

cheaper than that on Wiggle if you get Lloyd to buy them, he can get !0% off because they love him.

Great - 10% extra off but they make that by flogging your credit card details (allegedly).
